ISLAMABAD (DAILY ITTEHAD) : The British High Commissioner to Pakistan, Jane Marriott, expressed a strong desire to strengthen the strategic partnership between the United Kingdom and Pakistan, particularly focusing on increasing trade relations and business-to-business links. She emphasized the significance of the diaspora connection and the potential it holds for both countries. Marriott acknowledged the reality of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and assured that the UK has no issues with it. She pledged ongoing support in managing terrorist risks and emphasized Pakistan’s sovereignty. Regarding the Kashmir issue, she stated that it should be resolved by Pakistan and India, considering the wishes of the Kashmiri people. Marriott also highlighted the importance of constant exchange of information, especially in terms of student visits. Overall, she aims to strengthen ties and cooperation between the two nations, with a focus on economic growth and collaboration.
