ISLAMABAD : Pakistan is preparing for the 13th Joint Cooperation Committee (JCC) meeting to launch phase-II of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), anticipated to take place in June or July, likely during Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s visit to Beijing. Minister Ahsan Iqbal chaired a review meeting discussing preparations for the JCC, emphasizing fast-track implementation of agreements and warning against any obstacles. The meeting also assessed progress on projects like ML-1, Karakoram Highway Phase-2, Karachi Circular Railway, and Dera Ismail Khan-Zhob, with plans to present an overview to the Prime Minister before his visit. Pakistan will host the 13th JCC meeting, aiming to strengthen economic ties with China.
