BEIJING : Mr. Ajmal Khan, the Vice President of the Gilgit-Baltistan Chamber of Commerce (GBCI), expressed gratitude towards the Khunjerab Pass, which he deemed as a significant blessing for the people of Gilgit-Baltistan. The Pass serves as the only trading point for the locals, and their livelihoods are heavily reliant on cross-border trade. Following its closure in 2020 as a measure to curb the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Khunjerab Pass, the sole official crossing between China and Pakistan, resumed two-way passenger traffic on April 3, connecting Gilgit-Baltistan with China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
