ISLAMABAD :The 720 megawatts Karot hydropower plant is now a week away from starting commercial operations after it was put to 168 hours long reliability run test (RTT).According to a senior official of Karot Power Co., RTT is the last test before the commissioning of the project. Karot is the first-ever hydropower project under CPEC initiative to be completed at a cost of $1.72 billion. The project will play a vital role in Pakistan’s energy security by providing clean and affordable electricity.
