ISLAMABAD : The Suki Kinari Hydropower project achieved a significant milestone as the last rotor, a crucial component for generating electricity, was successfully installed on the fourth generating unit. This achievement marks the near completion of the unit body installation and paves the way for the waterless commissioning of all four units in the next six months. The project, developed under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), will generate clean electricity, replace coal consumption, and reduce carbon dioxide emissions, contributing to Pakistan’s energy optimization and economic development. With over 70% of the project completed, it is expected to be finished later this year, providing a substantial power supply to the country.
