BEIJING : During an exclusive session with heads and representatives of prominent Chinese think tanks, Professor Ahsan Iqbal, the Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives, reiterated the significance of the Pakistan-China relationship and reaffirmed the timeless nature of their All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership. He highlighted the strategic importance of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) as the flagship of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), which has delivered tangible benefits to both nations. The Minister emphasized that the CPEC’s early-harvest projects have transformed Pakistan’s economic landscape and established a solid foundation for sustainable economic growth. He stressed the importance of both China and Pakistan continuing to expedite efforts to realize Gwadar’s potential as a regional hub for commerce and industry while prioritizing work on key energy projects, such as ML-1.
