ISLAMABAD (DAILY ITTEHAD) : A terrorist attack on the Frontier Corps (FC) headquarters in Mohmand district was successfully thwarted by security forces early on September 6, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The incident, which could have resulted in significant damage, ended with the elimination of four suicide bombers before they could carry out their deadly mission.
ISPR reported that the attack took place in the early morning when four terrorists attempted to infiltrate the FC camp. However, the alertness and swift response of the security forces neutralized the threat, killing all four attackers before they could cause any harm.
In the aftermath of the attack, a comprehensive search operation was launched in the area to ensure there were no additional threats from other potential terrorists. The security forces are maintaining high vigilance, determined to eliminate any remaining terrorist elements in the region.
The prime minister has lauded the bravery and professionalism of the Pakistan Army soldiers who repelled the attack. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the soldiers for their courage, stating that they had “shifted the terrorists to hell” and emphasized the nation’s gratitude towards the armed forces for their unwavering commitment to combating terrorism.
He reiterated his government’s resolve to continue the fight against terrorism until the country is completely free from this menace. “In the war against terrorism, the entire nation stands by the Pakistan Army” the PM remarked.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also commended the security forces for their decisive action in crushing the terrorists’ cowardly attack. He expressed his confidence in the continued efforts of the security forces to eradicate the evil presence of terrorists from Pakistan.
On Friday, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir had said the armed forces and the people of Pakistan were determined to foil the nefarious designs of the country’s foes. While speaking on Defense and Martyrs Day, he paid tribute to the brave individuals who have sacrificed everything for their nation.
General Asim Munir emphasized that Pakistan’s commitment to stability was closely tied to the National Action Plan, adding that Operation Azm-e-Istehkam was not a new military operation and would not involve the displacement of any population.
He highlighted that recent terrorist activities were desperate attempts by certain elements to weaken the state, and he assured that those who support and justify these crimes would face increasing pressure in the future.
