ISLAMABAD (DAILY ITTEHAD) : Pakistan and China are set to launch five new economic corridors under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) initiative, supported by Pakistan’s Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), a joint civil-military body. These corridors, part of the second phase of CPEC, include the Innovation, Livelihood, Green Energy, Regional Development, and Employment Creation Corridors. While Pakistan has completed over 50 CPEC projects worth $25 billion, ongoing developments face significant challenges from militant attacks, particularly in Balochistan, where projects like the Gwadar port and a gold and copper mine are located. Beijing has expressed concerns about the safety of its nationals working on these projects.
